The Ascent

The beautiful stained glass window, “The Ascent” was presented to Unity Church San Angelo by the family of Holly Barry Howard who died July 9, 1976 at the age of 22. 

The window is an original, designed by Claudia Barry Bellemore, Holly’s sister.  It was cut, leaded, assembled and framed by Claudia and Holly’s mother and father.  Mr. and Mrs. Tucky Barry.  Both Claudia and Mrs. Barry wrote what the design symbolizes to them. 

Claudia wrote:  “The flight of the dove is our path of life – many curves of change and growth but soaring always upward, growing toward that perfection which is our gift of “Eternal Life and Light.”

Mrs. Barry wrote: “Holly’s life was such a brief yet profoundly meaningful flight through our lives.  Her life symbolized the development and growth of the Christ Spirit within each of us with various life forces and experiences of the Christ Consciousness lifting us ever upward until perfection is reached – the Ascent of the Mortal into Immortality.”
