Buddy Otto VIEW PROFILE

Oliver Harold "Buddy" Otto Jr.

San Angelo - Life was never the same for Buddy Otto after his beloved wife, Bonnie, died in June 2018. There doesn't seem to be a better word than "devoted" to describe their love, but there should be. They faced each of their many debilitating health challenges with love and support and lifted each other up with prayer and unwavering faith. When Bonnie could fight no more, Buddy was forced to go it alone. Now, they are reunited.

Oliver Harold "Buddy" Otto, Jr., died Friday, Dec. 27, 2019 at Shannon Hospital after a long battle with lung disease. He was born in San Angelo, TX, February 24, 1954, the son of Oliver H. "Mick" Otto and Sarah Yaggy Otto. After graduating from Central High School he moved to Austin, TX, to continue his education and then moved to Albuquerque, NM, where he met his future, Bonnie Weeks.

And their love story began. They were married in 1974 and moved to Christoval, TX, in the late 1980s. They loved God and their families and raised their voices in praise whenever possible with Bonnie's sweet voice leading the vocals.

In addition to his parents and wife, Buddy was preceded in death by his brothers, Dr. Robert Michael Otto and Walter Donald Otto. Survivors include his sister, Sarah "Sally" Ray and her husband, Dr. Phil Ray, numerous nephews, nieces and cousins, all of whom were special to him. And they loved him very much.

Funeral service will be at The Anglican Church of the Good Shepherd, Saturday, January 4, 2020, at 11am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Anglican Church of the Good Shepherd, Mount Carmel Hermitage of Christoval, Alpha-1 Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
