Joe Mack Guthrie
April 22, 1954 - October 11, 2015

Joe Mack Guthrie of San Angelo, Texas, passed away on Oct. 11, 2015, at MD Anderson Houston, Texas.

Mack was born in Monahans, Texas, to Jessie M. (J.M.) and Mackie Guthrie on April 22, 1954.

He attended high school at San Angelo Central High School and graduated in 1972. He attended Angelo State University but earned an associate degree in business from South Plains College. He worked as a store manager for WM Auto Parts for the last five years in Ballinger, Texas. Mack has worked in the auto parts industry throughout his career in Lubbock, San Angelo and Ballinger.

He enjoyed trains, photography, WWII Planes, Angelo State Band reunions and his many friends.

Mack is survived by his son, Tyler Guthrie of Midland, Texas, Ryan Guthrie and wife Chelsea of Houston, Texas; brother Jess Guthrie and wife Linda of Raymondville, Texas; sister Sara Smotherman and husband Steven of League City, Texas; nephew Jason Guthrie of St. Louis, Missouri; niece Stephanie Smotherman Jones and husband Chuck of Houston, Texas.

He was preceded in death by parents Jessie M. (J.M.) and Mackie Guthrie of San Angelo, Texas.

Interment will be held in summer 2016, in Caddo, Texas. A celebration of his life will also be held in summer 2016, in San Angelo, Texas.
